Yamaha launched the fourth generation R15 motorcycle in India last year. Along with that, the Japanese two-wheeler maker also launched the higher-spec R15M model in the country. The R15M, along with the Metallic Grey colour, was also available in the MotoGP edition. However, the latter seems to have been sold out in the country; Yamaha has stopped taking bookings for the YZF R15M MotoGP edition in the country. However, the Yamaha R15M 60th anniversary edition is still available for purchase in the country. The R15M 60th anniversary edition celebrates Yamaha's association with World Champion Grand Prix and retails at ₹1,88,300. The R15M Metallic Grey colour edition, however, gets a price tag of ₹1,86,900. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Yamaha R15M variant is the higher-spec version of the R15 V4 and gets golden brake callipers, a special seat, 3-D emblem, and an exclusive Metalic Grey colour scheme. The R15M is propelled by the 155 cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 18 bhp and 14 Nm. This powerplant is paired to a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. In addition to this, the R15M also has a quickshifter for easier gearshifts, especially on tracks. The R15M has the same hardware as the R15 V4 - 37 mm inverted forks with mono-shock for the suspension and 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Yamaha R15M has an LCD instrument cluster and Yamaha's Y-Connect system with Bluetooth for smartphone connectivity. This suite offers features such as call and message alerts, fuel consumption details, engine rpm, rate of acceleration, real-time fuel consumption, malfunction notification, locate your bike, parking record, riding history, and more. But that's not all for the new Yamaha R15M has a traction control system as well.
